Re: Archives in the Shifting Sands
Milo Stood leaning on the train car's cold metal wall. Passengers came and went as the transport arrived at its many stops through the city. He waved to Rosaline as the train reached their destination. When the transport came to a stop he stepped onto the platform and waited for Rosaline to get off.
Re: Archives in the Shifting Sands
Rosaline stood up and joined Milo on the platform. The Train hummed as the Archalite crystals came to life, causing the train to move down the tracks gradually gaining speed. She looked around. This particular platform was below street level (like many of the other platforms), light was provided through charged Archalite crystals. "lead the way Milo"
Re: Archives in the Shifting Sands
"Of course, Rosaline" Milo stepped past the security golems, he climbed the steps that lead to the street above. This was one of the dirtier parts of Ilia, most of the buildings here were cheap residence buildings for Archalite miners. You could here the sounds of the processing plant close by, Milo smiled, he loved the sound of machinery. After walking a little ways Milo stepped into an apartment building. He ran his finger down the list of the buildings occupants “Samuel Flowen… flat number 7… fourth floor”.
Re: Archives in the Shifting Sands
Rosaline followed closely behind Milo, the constant churning of the nearby processing plant made it hard for her to think. She Looked at the Apartment as she followed Milo through the door, it was rusting in the corners, it probably hadn't undergone maintenance for a while.
Re: Archives in the Shifting Sands
After a rather restless night, Samuel finally decided to get up for the day. It should not be surprising that he had little rest, nor was it a surprise when he sat up with a smile. For he was excited about today, because today was his first full day with his new arm. He had been up late pondering what to do first until deciding on re-braiding his hair.
As he re-braided it, he learned two things. First, braiding one's hair with two arms was much easier then with one arm and a mirror. Second, having no nervous system in one arm made the task incredibly difficult without the assistance of a mirror.
After completing the task after 4 tries, Samuel went for his coat so he could leave for breakfast. half way to it, however, he stopped and looked around the main room. It suddenly dawned on him that even though he's been living here a week, the room still looked as though no one was living there. there was no sign of personal effects or decorative pieces. just basic furniture. "huh," he Mused, "guess i should do some shopping while I'm out. Get something to add some personality to this place." After saying that, he returned to the bedroom to retrieve some cash from his drawer.

Re: Archives in the Shifting Sands
Milo quickly climbed the steps up to the fourth floor. He glanced down the hall and searching for flat number seven. "there...", he stepped briskly down the hall stopping in front of a door maked only by a seven forged from steel, that and a brass doorknob, he gave the door two knocks. "Samuel Flowen?"
Re: Archives in the Shifting Sands
The voice of a man at his door startled Samuel for a moment, but he quickly sorted out what it probably was. chances were that it was someone from the Stone Heart Artifice Guild, but there was still a chance that it was a member of the Order that somehow tracked him down. So as Samuel reached for the door, he decided to play it safe and do something he normally doesn't do. Lie.
"hello." he said as he opened the door, keeping his right arm hidden behind it. "Are you two looking for Sam?"

Re: Archives in the Shifting Sands
Milo squinted his eyes at the man poking his head out the apartment door. He matched the description of Samuel Flowen. He smiled, though his eyes remained emotionless. "I don't like being lied to." he said flatly. "But you must have your reasons, I am Milo Hart, I was the one who signed off on you arm"
Re: Archives in the Shifting Sands
As the words hit him, Samuel frowned and rubbed his neck as he said, "Sorry about that, sir Milo. For a second, i thought you might be with the Order." Then he thought of something. "though i am curious as to how you knew i was here."

"It's not uncommon for Stone Heart to keep track of people of interest, also, I was the one to sign off on your arm. May me and my Associate step in?" he asked.
Re: Archives in the Shifting Sands
At that moment Samuel began to think about how much this kid needed an attitude adjustment, but decided that it was to early to judge and quickly let the thought slide."Oh, of course." then Samuel remembered what he was doing. "but... I was on my way to breakfast. perhaps you'd like to talk business over breakfast? i assume the reason you're here is business related."

Re: Archives in the Shifting Sands
"Breakfast sounds fine... Oh and by the way this is Rosaline" he stepped a little to one side.
Rosaline nodded her head a little "pleased to meet you Mr. Flowen" she said politely. She did not know what to make of Samuel, He seemed a little cheerier than most Exorcists she had came across, and didn't appear to be wearing any sort of holy symbol or mark.

Re: Archives in the Shifting Sands
Samuel noticed how Rosaline was looking at him, but misinterpreted what it meant.
"Does something catch your eye, Milady?" Samuel asked casually. As he said it, one thing went though his head, and that was 'This just might be fun.'

Re: Archives in the Shifting Sands
Rosaline smiled softly "You seem different then most of the other Exorcists I have met" she blinked and her eyes turned blue for a moment before returning to green. She covered her mouth and yawned.
"shall we be off then?" Milo asked.

"Of course." Replied Samuel as he reached for his coat and sheath. "I believe there's a place down the road." His coat was a long coat used mostly by those wanting to conceal their legs during combat.

"Lead the way Samuel" he turned to leave.
"what sort of food do they serve?" Rosaline asked. The answer really didn't matter, she was pretty hungry and would probably eat anything.

Re: Archives in the Shifting Sands
"I believe they serve some more exotic dishes." Samuel answered as he headed down the stairs. At the bottom, Samuel turned to check where the current occupants were listed, and with a heavy sigh, muttered "I knew I should have paid that weasel more. How am i supposed to hide with my name here?"

Re: Archives in the Shifting Sands
"interesting... as long as they don't serve Remnant dishes I'm fine" she chuckled (cultural joke, remnants don't eat). She stepped out the door.
Milo's face did not show the slightest sign of a smile at her joke. He waited holding the door open for Samuel.

Samuel headed for the door, but slowed down as he passed Milo. "Gotta work on you're sense of humor, kid." muttered Samuel, then he quickened his pace.

Re: Archives in the Shifting Sands
Milo closed the door and followed the other two down the street. The restaurant was easily spotted, as it was brightly decorated with an assortment of foreign symbols. There was the feint sound of Aolian music (Aol, a country far away, similar society to feudal japan). It was a popular place, as many of the miners that worked in Ilia's Archalite mine came from all over Core.
Rosaline looked back, she noticed three men in long coats walk into Samuel's apartment building. She chose not to say anything, as it could turn out to be nothing.

Re: Archives in the Shifting Sands
Samuel Also saw the men entering the apartment building, but pretended not to see it. As far as he was concerned, they were only a problem if they find him. an even greater problem if they see him leave. Time may have aged his features a little, but that may not help him if they saw him before. All Samuel hoped for now was to leave before they spotted him, and to leave the others out of his affairs.

Re: Archives in the Shifting Sands
Rosaline entered into the busy restaurant, there was the clatter of plates, the sound of orders being given in the kitchen, and the chatter of the patrons. In the first few minutes Rosaline heard at least five different languages being spoken. a small sign said a waitress stood waiting with menus. "good morning" she greeted, and the
"Good morning madame," the waitress replied
"seating for three please"
"right this way" the waitress lead Rosaline to a table below a skylight.
Milo followed Rosaline closely and Sat down next to her the remaining seat was across from them.

Samuel sat in the remaining seat. He carefully placed the menu in front of him and casually looked through it, passing over anything without meat in it and glancing at the entrance once in a while.
"so what's the job?" asked Samuel without taking his eyes off the menu. His hand slowly reached into his coat.

Re: Archives in the Shifting Sands
Rosaline skimmed the menu. "we are looking for a exorcist, because we are interested in investigating a ruin that according to our sources is haunted." she paused, "by the way... what dishes would you recommend?"
Milo flipped right to the desserts section, he liked sweeter foods. Milo mentally chose a couple deserts and then started to look through the appetizers.
