From the spiritual connected channels, to the rebellious Breakers there are a variety of alternatives to making a human character.
________________________________________________________________________
the Dængelon:
The first race of the great existence, the race of Dængelon is made up by very distinct groups, the Angelic and the demonic. Dængelon are always (almost) in pairs, one is always an Angelic and the other always a Demonic. Dængelon children are never named until their coming of age ceremony when they turn sixteen. In this ceremony they are also paired with their life long counterpart and lover, the pairing is always between an angel and a demon. The Dængelon’s name is chosen for them by their partner, and they choose theirs partner’s name in turn, usually choosing names that have polar opposite meanings such as Love and Hate, or Earth and Sky. Though rebel Dængelon have been known to mate with humans and other beings. Reproduction for Dængelon has little to do with physical love, but is more a product of mental and emotional love. Demon women all give birth on the winter solstice and Angel women all give birth on the summer solstice. Dængelon can live eternally unless killed or they choose to pass on. They love to learn about the nature of existence, they are collectors of all arcane, scientific and historical knowledge.

Appearance: Angelic Dængelon have white skin which seems to glow faintly of a hue that matches their eyes, their hair and wing feathers are also white. Demonic Dængelon have black skin that has a feint shimmer that is reminiscent moonlight and shares its color with their eyes, their hair and wings are black like their skin. All Dængelon have wings that span between 4 and 8 meters across. Dængelon eyes can be any color. It is common for them to tattoo their names somewhere on their body along with symbols connected to it, usually with black and white inks.

Abilities: Dængelon can travel the planes they can land travel to the next plane once a day, this takes a lot of energy so they don't travel often. Dængelon can also feel the emotions of their partner. They can fly.

note: Dængelon are more of a story element so you must get approval from me to play one

Channels:
These people are living bridges between the world of the living and the spiritual. They can see and contact the many spirits of the plain of mirrors, whether they are the spirits of the dead or elemental spirits. The mirror plain is a physical opposite of the mortal plain, it is most easily contacted through a mirror (hence it’s name) and it is the home of all spirits lacking a human body. They are also capable of touching the living via the mirror plane especially when they are sleeping. Channels are born at random within the human race and there is no connection of channels by bloodline. Channels, unlike other people do not require a mirror to access the mirror plain unlike the rest of the human population. They see the mirror plane in their dreams, in flashes and some even see the mortal world and the mirror world layered over top of each other. Channels often have hard childhoods due to the lack of a mentor to help them learn how to cope with their powers.

Appearance: Channels usually appear mostly human, despite the fact that they cannot look at themselves through a mirror (though they can use their abilities to look at themselves from a third person perspective) they always look well groomed. They can borrow certain aspects from spirits to change their features to their liking (EX: a Channel can borrow the power of a wind spirit to make their hair appear as if fluttering in the wind, even if the air is dead still). Many Channels have pale skin tones and dark circles around their eyes due to insomnia.

Abilities: Channels are blessed at birth with a sixth sense, they can see spirits. They can speak Universal, the language of the spirits. They can slip into the mirror plane and from there they can contact spirits or even attempt to posses an opponent (especially if the opponent is sleeping). They are very skilled at the art of hypnotism.

Faceless:
Who am I? A question that plagues the mind of every faceless, as they slip from identity to another, changing their eye color by blinking and watching their hair shift color in the mirror in front of them. They often live as thieves, using their abilities to aid in their lies, using their many faces to gain some one’s trust and then taking what they desire. Some take to acting, for they can not only act in character easily but also become the character physically.

Appearance: Faceless appear however they wish, they can change their face and body how ever they choose, they may even change gender (though they usually settle on a gender role and only change when required of them). Many develop a favorite identity and take it when they are alone or with the few that they consider friends and this is the form they take when they die. The answer to the eternal question of the faceless: Who ever I want to be!

Abilities: The Faceless are characterized by their ability to change their appearance. they are also skilled at making feints against their enemies, putting them into a position that the Faceless can take advantage of.

Breakers:
The soul purpose of the breakers is to unravel the fabric of the worlds. Many breakers do not know that they are any different than the humans they walk beside. But those that are aware of their abilities to rip holes in time and space rarely care about the consequences of their actions. Breakers have the ability to defy the rules of the word around them, they become more self aware they have no limit to what they can do.

Appearance: Breakers appear human, though as they become more and more aware of their abilities, they change physically. An aware Breaker seems to glow, because their aura bends the light around them, they also have perfect balance and become the image of grace, due to the fact that they hardly feel gravity and have a confidence born of personal power.

Abilities: Breakers can bend the rules to perform athletic and acrobatic feats that would normally be impossible (running on walls, jumping large gaps), though not without some limits.
________________________________________________________________________

Gear Remnants:
These are an artificial “race”, the term Gear Remnant refers to any of the thousands on thousands of sentient machines who were abandoned to rust at the end of the great Dængelon war with the humans. The main cities of the Remnants are hidden below destroyed cities and often go for miles below the ground. Many have a ingrained fear and hatred towards Dængelon based off warped battle directives and the general destruction that the war with them caused.

Appearance: Remnants are usually humanoid, though there are some made in the form of animals. In general smaller remnants are more intelligent as their original purpose was to assist in tactical decisions while the larger ones tend to be more childlike, and act more or less like lost children, this is due to their simpler purpose (smashing things). The appearance of a Remnant is mostly based on who made them. The guilds that made the majority of these machines were: Black Forge, Holy Fist and Stone Heart, the most prominent Alchemy and Artifice guilds of that time. Black forge tended to make close combat machines of a middle size range preferring to make agile machines capable of snatching Dængelon from the air then silencing them with a quick slash. Holy Fist made large artillery machines that could shoot down Dængelon with ease with canon fire or arcane blasts. Stone Heart had the greatest taste for aesthetics they made machines with human appearance and intelligence coupled with strength unmatchable by any human. The Stone Heart artifice guild is the only one of the three still existing.

Abilities: As machines Remnants are relatively unaffected by the elements, they also don't feel hunger or fatigue. What they are made of affects their abilities, metal remnants don't heal naturally but are tougher, wood based ones are the reverse. (consult me on details such as type of metal or alternative materials)

Half Dængelon:
these are the result of human-Dængelon romances. they are shunned by many societies and are often loners. They are almost never twins, and are often left to live in the world of their human parents even if they were born on the plane of glass. They often feel resentment for both their parents.

Appearance: They posses traits from both parents, their skin is the same tone as their human parent with swirls of either black or white, depending on whether they were parented by a demon or an angel. They also have Dængelon wings that are the same as their Dængelon parent's.

Abilities: Half Dængelon have the ability to fly and find it easier to travel the planes than most other mortal beings. They can retract and extend their wings at will.
