Here are the basic mechanics of game play.

You cannot post multiple times in a row, so make sure you get all you want to say out, while still giving room for other people to react. Role playing is a form of improve, and a key part of improve is not saying "no", try to compromise instead of forcing other players to go the way you want (as GM I will moderate a little, and suggest different things but... this is your story).

Combat:
The turn order of combat is determined by a d20 roll (highest wins), when monsters are added to a fight they will also make a roll. Will appear like this
-monster name- -their turn role-
Successful hits will be determined by the GM using a d20 roll. The other dice are mostly for different weapon effects and for miscellaneous things (ex cards). Preps are basically a turn devoted to casting a ritual or spell, and contain a line that describes them preparing to create that effect:

"Connor raised his arm, aligning it with his target, he then started to murmur an incantation under his breath, as a sphere of magic formed in his palm."

The next post would be:

"Connor's arm is forced back by the recoil of the magic blast as it shot forward straight for his target."

Not all magic requires a prep but most spells that have more effects then a magic missile either take preparation of some sort and even something like:

"Greta leafs through her spell book running through each one in her mind"

Means all the difference in a heated battle, as even the strongest weavers need to review their spells often in order to use them at will. Rituals can not be done in this way, and the amount of time needed to perform them is somewhat unalterable. Preparing a weapon strike (especially a ranged weapon) can make hitting a desired target easier, in that way a prep turn spent doing so can make all the difference in the world (+2 to your d20 roll), especially when your character depends on accuracy.
A normal attack takes a standard action, moving around is also a standard action, (you get 2 standard actions per turn).
